The Turanza EL42 is a Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for Original Equipment use on sporty coupes and luxury sedans, as well as crossover utility vehicles and family minivans. It was developed to blend some of the looks and handling of a performance tire with the low noise and ride comfort associated with a passenger tire, as well as provide all-season traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even in light snow. The Turanza EL42 molds an all-season tread compound into a symmetric tread design featuring siped rectangular tread blocks that combine snow biting edges with dry road stability. Lateral and circumferential tread grooves evacuate water out from under the tire''s footprint to reduce hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tire''s internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area and enhance treadwear, handling and durability. The Turanza EL42 features a polyester cord body to provide a smooth ride.

These are some serious tires. I believe driving is an art form and not to be taken lightly under any circumstances. When I'm driving...I'm driving! Some morons out here think..."he drives a minivan!", he calls that driving". First, "Minivan" is a misnomer. I can slide 8ft sheets of plywood and 2x4's in it. It's front wheel drive so it's not super quick off the line but with the right and metered torque I can get the jump on rides that some people are surprised about. The tires are fundamental in safe driving and the key to safe tires is consistant and stable air pressure all the way around. The value of the tire comes in it's ability to handle weather and surface conditions. I drive a vehicle hard but...it's strategic. I keep my eyes on the road by sitting with shoulders above the steering wheel so I can see the road and avoid "unnecessary contact" with bumps and holes. These tires have performed flawlessly. I can say without any hestitation I have never had a flat tire on any vehicle I've ever owned and that's due to consistant, stable and correct tire pressure. I am ready to replace the front after 38,687 miles and the rears are still good. Helloooo ! I'd say that's value. Ohh, one last thing. A front tire had a nail in it but the rubber gripped it so tight the mechanic had a ----- of a time pulling it out. Still didn't lose pressure. I think it's because I have a philosphy of 36 lbs. a tire(Hot) weather the vehicle is empty or full. So...run over a nail or 2...no big deal !
