The Potenza RE960AS Pole Position is designed to provide year-round driving flexibility by offering predictable handling, traction and control on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow. The Potenza RE960AS Pole Position features Bridgestone’s UNI-T AQII Technology, which uses advanced compound and construction features to enhance and preserve wet traction through the tire’s life. It molds a dual-layer, all-season tread compound into a directional design to provide stability on dry roads while its grooves help pump water and slush through the tire's footprint to increase hydroplaning resistance and foul weather traction. Scalloped multi-edge lateral grooves on the leading edge of each tread block and multiple sipes in each tread block increase the number of biting edges to enhance wet road and light snow traction. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon, along with a carcass reinforced by a hard sidewall filler between polyester cord plies to help resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering. Click For Price Customer Reviews Got the tires a few weeks ago and so far so good. The tires I had before came with my car (stock tires), they were Bridgestone Potenza as well but I don't remember the exact model. They had almost no tread and were literally shredding apart when I decided I needed some new tires. Anyway, after the replacement what I got was - (1) - slightly decreased gas mileage (1-2mpg) [ After inflating to max pressure, 40 PSI, I got the same gas mileage (38MPG) as I did with my other treadles, loud tires. - (2) - I noticed my car wasn't as responsive; and to be honest I like it that way. With my old tires if I hardly moved the wheel at all I'd go lunging into the next lane. - (3) - The ride was much more comfortable as well as quiet. I have a part time job as a pizza delivery guy, so driving is a little more demanding than most people. I found the tires to be great in all aspects and in all terrain I've driven in; hydroplaning has never been a problem- even when I floored the car from a dead stop around a corner while raining hard, nothing. Perfect traction. My car still kicks the same as it did with the other tires, so power was not lost. I did though inflate them to the maximum pressure, I found that they were more responsive while still being able to have much more traction than my other tires did. I've also noticed that people with heavier cars complain about low mileage on these tires while those with lighter cars (such as the Honda Civic) rave about getting more than expected mileage. I think that's pretty self explanatory if you're wondering if you can trust the rated mileage of this tire. Of course your driving style, road surfaces, rotating your tires, balancing your tires, and keeping them properly inflated all have a significant impact on your tire life. All in all, a fantastic tire. If you're a Civic owner or another owner of a smaller car, this tire is absolutely perfect for both performance and traction.
