The Potenza RE030 is an Ultra High Performance Summer Original Equipment tire designed to enhance the responsiveness and handling of performance sedans like the 6-speed manual transmission equipped Acura TL, as well as the Lexus GS300, GS400 and GS430 sedans. The Potenza RE030 was developed to provide good traction along with responsive and predictable dry and wet road handling. It is not intended to be driven in the snow. On the outside, the Potenza RE030 features a high-grip tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design. The Potenza RE030 features two continuous center ribs along with large intermediate and shoulder blocks to provide responsive handling, high-speed stability and traction on dry roads, while circumferential and lateral tread grooves are aimed to channel water out from under the tire's footprint to reduce hydroplaning and aid wet traction. Internally, the Potenza RE030 features twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area and enhance handling, high-speed capability and ride quality while minimizing weight. The rayon cord body and hard rubber sidewall filler helps blend uniform ride quality with steering response and lateral stability. I drive a combined freeway, mountain, city pattern every week. These tires came with the car and have been great. I bought a 6-speed TL to have fun with and I dont exactly baby it. 4-wheel alignment is critical with this car and even a couple of millimeters out HUGELY affects how these tires bite and how they wear. Im at 21100 as of this writing and still have +/- 8000 left in them easily. We had huge rain here in Southern California this past winter and these tires were a little iffy in the wet but certainly not dangerous and completely controllable. Theyve been quiet, fantastic under hard braking, great wearing, they stick like crazy and I would definitely recommend them.
