Tire Description

The Dueler H/P Sport is a Street/Sport Truck Summer tire member of Bridgestone's Dueler family of light truck tires. The Dueler H/P Sport was developed for the drivers of sport utility vehicles and performance pickups. The Dueler H/P Sport is designed to deliver predictable handling, traction and control on dry and wet roads. The Dueler H/P Sport is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Dueler H/P Sport radials feature a high performance light truck tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design derived from Potenza RE050 Max Performance tires. The Dueler H/P Sport tread design features large shoulder and intermediate blocks flanking two continuous center ribs to provide responsive handling and stability on dry roads while wide circumferential grooves help water flow through the tire's footprint to increase hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon, along with a carcass reinforced by a hard sidewall filler between polyester cord plies to help resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering.

My car is a 2006 BMW X5 4.8IS, with 275/40s on the front and 315/35s on the rear. I replaced my OEM Michelins twice (total of 3 sets) and tried one set of Yokohamas. I never got more than 13,000 miles out of a set. Even though I had it aligned every time I replaced the tires, the fronts always started to cup and make "wa-wa-wa" sounds at around 4000 miles. I didn't have to put up with the noise for too long because the rears always wore out at 13,000. This time I tried the Bridgestone Dueler HPs. I am absolutely delighted with them! They are quiet, they seem to handle as well as any of the others, they have excellent wet and dry traction and I still have almost 1/2 of my tread left at 16,889 miles! They are the least expensive tire for my vehicle and they are by far the longest wearing. I haven't discovered any downside to them. There is no question that I will purchase this tire again when these wear out.
